What We Do and Who We Help
Helping as Many People as Possible — Without Judgement
Your Penrith Charity Serving the Community
Since the launch of the Penrith charity, the Ross Hutchison Foundation in 2010, Ross and his team of merry volunteers have helped thousands of people in desperate situations to have a better day. However, Ross has been tirelessly serving the Penrith community for more than 50 years.
The homeless, victims of domestic violence, the elderly, people with disabilities (both physical and mental), or people who have alcohol and drug abuse problems. For those who end up in rough times and don’t know how to ask for help — the RH Foundation has assisted without any judgement.
Offering Help With No Government Assistance
Did you know there are thousands of homeless people in Australia right now? And many more who find themselves in unfortunate situations.
Here at the RH Foundation, we provide food assistance in Penrith for over 100 families every week. The shelves at The Lodge, Penrith Paceway, are always stocked. Anyone can call by when Ross or one of the team is there to take what they need.
The Ross Hutchison Foundation can also help with clothing for families and homeless folks, redistribute furniture and clothing for those in urgent need, and in some cases provide emergency support.

The Ross Hutchison Foundation — Supporting Children
From his close association with the much-beloved character Humphrey B. Bear, to his gymnastics and dance master coaching career, and now his work with families and children in need through the RH Foundation. Ross has always shown a desire to help the younger generation, particularly those who may find themselves in less fortunate situations.
Many of the issues Ross and the Foundation tackle including homelessness, domestic violence, disabilities, and alcohol and drug abuse don’t just impact adults or the direct sufferer — they often affect children too. We also help families who have lost their homes through natural disasters, such as fire and floods.
The Ross Hutchison Foundation has a three-stage approach for helping children build a better future:
Stage One
Through the work of the RH Foundation and assisting other charities helping to prevent the issues that cause suffering to children.
Stage Two
Helping children through youth development projects.
Stage Three
Directly supporting families in need.

Assisting Those With Disabilities
One of the very first projects the Ross Hutchison Foundation got involved in was providing transportation to the elderly and the disabled. To this day, we still offer wheelchairs and mobility devices to those who need them.
Here at the RH Foundation, we can help with everything from finding housing and employment, to sourcing medical care and education those with specific needs require. In addition, we work with special needs organisations that can provide emotional support and guidance.
We are always looking for equipment that can help those with disabilities. Whether it’s a used wheelchair, a pair of crutches or even reading glasses you no longer need.
Charities and Projects We Have Helped
Although here at the RH Foundation we like to try, we realise we can’t change the world by ourselves. Over the years, we have supported many other charities — by providing financial assistance, contributing manpower and donating many of our services to their cause.
The Ross Hutchison Foundation has rapidly become the go-to organisation for charities seeking support. Some of the charities and projects we have collaborated with include:
The Variety Club of Australia
Penrith Community Kitchen
Little by Little Inc — Autistic Children
The John Maclean Foundation
NAIDOC Disability Services
Nepean Food Service
NYAS Homeless Youth
The Children’s Charity
Penrith PCYC
Buy a Brick
Torton Place
The Red Cross
Nordoff-Robbins
Kids in Wheelchairs
Relay for Life
Diabetes Australia
The Raging Rhinos
The Boccia Association
Music for Life
And many more…

Join us for our next fundraiser event! Coming up on 5th November.
At the Ross Hutchison Foundation, our vision is to inspire stability and equality for people from all walks of life.
This is no mean feat! To continue to help those in need, the Ross Hutchison Foundation is always grateful for any support with its projects.
Ross may like to try, and he’s certainly been very successful, but one man alone can’t help everyone who needs that help in the community and beyond. Hence, if there is any other way you feel you can make a difference — providing services your Penrith charity needs, or simply volunteering your time…. We are waiting to hear from you!
